The Coastal Entrepreneur Awards honor entrepreneurs in various categories, ranging from technology, film, healthcare, minority-owned businesses, non-profits, and more. Evaluations are based on two different criteria: discerning if it is a worthy investment and if the endeavor is in fact entrepreneurial. For nonprofits, evaluation is based on how it will impact the community. Awards are given to those who have demonstrated leadership in innovation, resourcefulness, and perseverance in their business.

The Award Ceremony will be held on May 31st at UNCW’s Burney Center. Applications are open through March 6th. Eligible locations include New Hanover, Brunswick, and Pender counties. Winners will be honored by a special feature in The Greater Wilmington Business Journal and presented an award at the ceremony. Tickets for the event can be purchased on the Wilmington Biz website.
